The inspiration for this work came along in an unusual way. I was looking through a book of old photographs and was struck by the remarkable little cottage and setting. I already knew the area but I doubted if the cottage was even still there. When I walked up the track I was surprised to find the bones of it were there but it had been altered out of recognition. Using the old photograph along with sketches and photographs from my visit I ‘reconstructed’ this image.
