Abergwaun or Fishguard is a beautifully situated harbour. Looking across form the lime kilns to the old quayside the path takes the observer into the image and around the corner with the expectation that they will arrive over the water. I always felt this painting had an exotic quality instilled by the trees in the foreground and the turquoise water beyond.
