Now possibly one of the most popular destinations in Snowdonia, Cwm Idwal is indeed beautiful and easily accessible. I was here once in very bad weather and gusts of wind blew down through the valley, creating big waves on the lake, the gusts blowing us over as they hit with such force. It is a beautiful but unforgiving landscape. The dark shape of Pen yr Ole Wen dominates the skyline in this view from the head of the valley.
